There is a significant difference in average life expectancy among people living in different countries around the world. According to the latest OECD data, the average life expectancy in OECD countries was 81.1 years in 2023, while in several countries, including Spain, Japan, and Switzerland, it was above 80 years. In comparison, according to World Bank data for 2024, life expectancy at birth in Pakistan was approximately 68 years. This difference raises an important question: why do people in some countries live longer, while average life expectancy in Pakistan is relatively lower?
