There was a young teenage boy rolling through my neighborhood this week on a scooter.
He looked like he was having a great time – completely carefree.
The kid passed my house maybe a dozen times, and every time, something bothered me about the scenario.
He didn’t have on any safety gear, but unfortunately, that’s not unusual.
And then it hit me. The kid was scooting around with a giant lollipop.
Now this buddy is already taking some risks here. He’s in the street on a scooter with no helmet, no wrist guards, nada.
But it was the lollipop that bothered me most of all. Imagine if that kid crashed. There’s a lot of risk in that scenario!
I want kids to head outside, to get some exercise and enjoy the world. But dudes, please – put on your helmets and leave the choking hazards at home!
