I came precariously close to being hit by a car the other morning.

It was not even 6 a.m. yet, and still dark outside. The street we were on was darker than usual, as if a light was out, and there are no sidewalks on the street.

A car came zipping around the corner out of nowhere, and for a moment, I didn’t know where to go. The driver was headed straight for us, and showed no signs of swerving in either direction.

My husband, thankfully, had his morning wits about him, and shoved me out of the way. We were both OK, and afterward, I wondered if the driver ever even registered that we were there.

At that hour of the day, in that part of the neighborhood, cars are rare.

But it was a reminder to me to dress in more reflective clothes in the early hours.

And if you are out driving, it doesn’t matter the hour – please watch out for potential pedestrians!
