My hometown in Ohio sits right in the path of totality for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8.

It will be an amazing thing to see, and the town is embracing it, selling T-shirts and even opening the drive-in theater parking lot for camping and viewing.

But here’s the challenge. It’s Ohio in April … and unlike Yuma, when it comes to the weather, anything goes.

I found one statistic that noted in April, my hometown experiences “essentially constant cloud cover,” with the sky overcast about 52% of the time.

It’s a roll of the dice whether or not the weather will cooperate.

It could rain. It could be sunny. It could be cloudy or windy or balmy and perfect … and it could very well be ALL of those things in just a single hour!

But I hope for my family and friends, Mother Nature plays nice, because it’s really cool to see a total solar eclipse!
