If I asked you to stop using something that helps you connect with friends and family, or something that seems to take the edge off a stressful day, you probably wouldn’t even consider it.
Now, what if I told you that this same thing is linked to many types of cancer, heart disease, stroke, gastrointestinal and liver diseases, and that it can fuel addictions? You would likely want to know what it is.
That “thing” is alcohol, a substance that is used regularly in our society, even though research continues to find more ways drinking is harming our health.
Here in Windsor-Essex, alcohol is not an unknown........
