President Donald Trump wants you to ignore the ways congressional Republicans are destroying health care in our country and focus on what really matters: attacking transgender children.

Within the first few minutes of his outrageous address to the nation on Dec. 17, he made a jab at trans people by including them in a rundown of ways former President Joe Biden’s administration had left the country in shambles.

“We had men playing in women’s sports, transgender for everybody,” Trump told the cameras.

The following day, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that the administration would be prohibiting hospitals from participating in Medicaid and Medicare if they provide gender-affirming services to trans children.
