On President Joe Biden’s first day in office, the new commander-in-chief signed a suite of damaging executive orders. Among them: reversing essentially every border-related executive action enacted by Donald Trump during his term and implementing new policies to make it easier than ever to flaunt immigration processes and get released into the country with barely a trace. The effect: gutting the border security we had and issuing a come one, come all invitation to people around the world that sparked a border crisis the likes of which has not been seen in U.S. history. Now, more than three years later, it’s clear that Biden’s border chaos and the pain it’s caused was the point — and things are going just as he and the Democrats planned.

Following Biden’s day-one executive orders (and much to the joy of dangerous Mexican cartels), migrants from around the world began answering the call issued by Biden’s border policies. Month after month, a growing number of illegal immigrant encounters and known “got-aways” were reported by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

When asked about the troubling numbers, the White House and Biden administration engaged in their normal denial and blame-shifting. The border is “closed,” they insisted. Spikes in illegal immigration are merely “seasonal” ebbs and flows. Everything is “under operational control,” cabinet officials told lawmakers. The border is certainly, they emphasized, not a “crisis.”

As usual, the dutiful regime stenographers in the mainstream media parroted Team Biden’s denials and false explanations, buying Biden more time to continue making the chaos at the border worse. Repeatedly, the White House and Biden administration pounced on opportunities to spin a different narrative at the border. Those opportunities included the false smearing of brave border agents for allegedly whipping illegal immigrants — baseless claims that the Biden administration knew were false when they publicly feigned outrage and concern over something that never happened. Again, it drew attention away from the surge of illegal immigrants and capitalized on the left’s anti-police idiocy.

By the time the southern border was recording all-time records for illegal immigrant encounters, Biden and Democrats had fortified their open-border position and weren’t going to budge. The result: consecutive months of all-time and monthly records for illegal immigration. As of now, a review of CBP data reveals the outcome of Biden’s invitation for illegal immigrants to flood the United States: 7,298,486 southwest land border encounters of illegal immigrants since Biden took office in January 2021.

For more context on that disgraceful statistic, Biden’s border policy has seen more illegal immigrants encountered — meaning it doesn’t count known “got-aways” or those who slipped into the U.S. completely undetected — than live in more than 30 states.

Biden’s border crisis means that all 50 states are now border states in terms of the effect of the chaos caused by an unenforced international boundary. Cartels in Mexico are rolling in cash thanks to illegal immigrants making the fraught journey to the U.S. Human trafficking, drugs, and criminal organizations such as MS-13 have seized on Biden’s open border to increase and expand their illicit activities. Some of the illegal immigrants who’ve taken advantage of Biden and Democrats’ offer have — unsurprisingly, given the lack of penalties for their initial act of unlawfully entering the United States — even taken to brazenly bashing cops in Times Square only to be released while delivering a literal middle finger to the United States and the rule of law.

When it finally became untenable for Biden to completely deny that things at the border are not the way they used to be, he suddenly forgot he possessed executive power to fix the crisis he created with that very authority. Instead, it was more excuses from Biden, while Democrat governors and mayors at least pretended to lament the impact of Biden’s border policies. Even then, they all reached the same conclusion for what Biden should do: increase federal funding for illegal immigrant welfare and authorize work permits for illegal immigrants, thereby creating another incentive for more illegal immigrants to enter the U.S. — and another step in Democrats’ long march toward making the 11 million to 17 million illegal aliens in the United States indistinguishable from natural born and naturalized citizens or otherwise legal immigrants.

Sure, these illegal immigrants are currently ineligible to fully participate in American society — but that’s changing, just as Biden’s party has planned and worked toward. Already, illegal immigrants are counted in the decennial census, thanks to a day-one executive order issued by President Biden. That means Democrat-run sanctuary states are getting larger populations which, without action to reverse Biden’s disastrous policies, will give their Democrat electorates more representation in Congress and therefore more votes in the Electoral College.

In addition, New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ plan to give illegal immigrants — criminals, that is — prepaid debit cards with as much as $1,000 per month paid for by taxpayers who have seen Big Apple police and education budgets slashed to cover illegal immigrant welfare. In other leftist dystopias such as San Francisco, the city’s Elections Commission just swore in a non-citizen who is legally prohibited from voting — because of course they did. Democrats in Congress routinely introduce legislation to create a "pathway to citizenship" for illegal immigrants, aiming to one day be successful in their attempts at mass-amnesty.

None of the above has even touched on the national security threat posed by Biden’s open-border policies, but it’s clear that if some dangerous foreign terrorists slip across the open border along with millions of other illegal immigrants, that’s not a concern for the Biden administration. Senior officials such as the FBI director have admitted that such threats are rising and all the national security warning lights are flashing red, yet Biden and his cabinet still refuse to take action to secure the border. That’s because the border invasion is all going according to the Democrats’ plan.

If, and that's a rather large "if," Biden does take any action related to the border that doesn't make things worse, it will be solely because he read some 2024 writing on the wall, just as his administration recently announced that its draconian electric vehicle mandate would likely be relaxed. And if Biden is re-elected, you can bet all the Burisma cash Hunter "earned" that the president will quickly after November return to open-border mayhem.
