Its bias seems obvious to me. And, in and of itself, “bias” isn’t a crime.

It’s fine to have an opinion. There are newspapers in this country that editorially lean right (say, the National Post, the Toronto Sun, sometimes The Globe and Mail) and those that lean left (say, the Toronto Star). With those newspapers, all privately owned, you know what you are getting. They’re entitled to have a point of view.

The CBC is different. There are many problems with, and at, the CBC. Among them: It is generously funded by the government and that gives it an unfair advantage over its private-sector competitors. It accepts advertising, even though it already receives that taxpayer support — again, wildly unfair. And — most significantly — it is a publicly supported broadcaster that seems to only reflect the views of one segment of the public.
