6 Israelis hurt, one critically, in minibus accident in Thailand

A minibus carrying Israeli passengers overturned in north Thailand’s Chiang Mai on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry said.

Six Israelis in their 20s were injured, one of them critically, the Passportcard travel insurance company said, adding that all six were insured by the company.

Medics assisted by the Magnus Search and Rescue group were evacuating the wounded to three different area hospitals based on the severity of their wounds, the insurer said.

Thai outlet Khaosod said a total of seven people were wounded on the minibus, all foreign nationals.

According to Khaosod, an initial investigation into the accident indicated the driver tried to overtake another vehicle, lost control and veered off the road and into a tree. Five of the wounded had to be rescued from under the wreckage of the minibus, Khaosod........
