The National Assembly Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training’s criticism of the private educational institutions’ regulatory authority over unjustifiable increases in school fees is a welcome and long-overdue intervention. By raising concerns about the opaque mechanisms that allow repeated fee hikes, the committee has acknowledged a problem that affects millions of families across the country.
