Petition Against Kazakhstan’s Proposed ‘LGBTQ Propaganda’ Law Rejected
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture has reportedly rejected a petition filed by an array of organizations in opposition to a law banning “LGBTQ propaganda” that passed in the Majilis, the lower chamber of Kazakhstan’s parliament, last month and is set to be considered in the Senate next week.
The law would ban the promotion of “non-traditional” sexual orientations, subjecting violators to finds and possible prison terms.
