Swindon councillor does not want Reform in charge in town

Speaking as an experienced councillor and an experienced Swindonian, I’d like to take issue with Aled's headline (SA Dec 31st).

The apparent alarming implication is that Reform, with no known candidates, no experience, and no history of public service here, could somehow end up running Swindon?

I say alarming because, in three short years, local Labour has re-motivated a demoralised Civic Offices staff, started building new council homes, extricated Children’s Services from special measures, are building a new children's home locally to save £ thousands weekly, created a new Surestart in Penhill, built a fine youth centre in Parks, sorted the appalling recycling mess left behind by the Tories, sorted an Oasis deal (only to be scuppered by the greedy developers), finished off the new Bus Boulevard and have started work on a new theatre, got the sports hub finished in........
