Finley Munroe is on a short list of true game changers in the Swindon Town squad, and his future remains the most important part of January.

Ten minutes after Munroe had dropped a ball perfectly onto the head of Ryan Tafazolli in the penalty area to open the scoring, Elliott Nevitt was charging clear of the Swindon back line. Connor Ripley had already saved Town twice, but the Gillingham winger was going to have him at his mercy with a one-v-one. Only Munroe turned on the jets and raced back, muscling his way between the player and the ball, before turning and marching away.

The win over the Kent side was not a vintage performance; I hope people are quickly coming to realise that a season at the top is more about coming out on the right side of a majority of slogs than sweeping everyone aside like paper off a table. Opposition managers can keep........
