A resident has claimed that the suggestion to relocate Swindon's theatre into a shopping centre is "unviable".

The town's biggest entertainment venue, The Wyvern, was confirmed late last year as needing to close to the public by as early as 2027, with Swindon Borough Council beginning work to find a space for an alternate venue to be built.

Recently, restaurants and businesses at Regent Circus have closed, apart from Nando's, with leader of the opposition, Conservative councillor Gary Sumner, believing that two birds can be killed with one stone.

A letter to the Adver by G A Woodward of Nelson Street said:
