Senedd committee report highlights concerns about racing greyhounds

Concerns about the welfare of racing greyhounds in Wales have been raised.

The Senedd's Culture Committee calls for the Welsh Government to prioritise animal welfare when considering greyhound racing legislation.

However, the Committee also emphasises the need for a more "rigorous, evidence-led approach" to drafting rules.

It is concerned that the Government's shortened legislative process did not allow for proper scrutiny, leaving key questions unanswered.

This concern was raised in their Stage One report on the Prohibition of Greyhound Racing (Wales) Bill, which aims to ban greyhound racing due to welfare........
