Unearthed video shows WH press shooting suspect as Caltech student
President Donald Trump posted to social media a photo of law enforcement detaining a suspect following a shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C., United States, on the night of April 25, 2026. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen, was taken into custody immediately following the disturbance.
A newly unearthed video shows the suspect in a shooting at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner when he was a student at Caltech. Released by KABC-TV, the 2017 video shows an interview with Cole Tomas Allen as he discusses a new invention.
The news segment from nearly a decade ago focused on an “Aging into the Future” conference in Los Angeles, where vendors displayed products focused on helping improve the lives of older people. Allen, described as a current Caltech student, was there with a prototype for a better wheelchair.
