LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold and dry weather for Lahore and parts of Punjab on Tuesday evening/night, Wednesday and Thursday.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect north-eastern parts of Balochistan and southern Punjab in next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province and freezing in Murree and Galyat on Tuesday evening/night and the next two days.

However, light rain/drizzle with wind-thunderstorm may occur at isolated places in Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Multan, Bahawalpur, Kot Addu, and Khanpur.

Shallow fog is likely to occur at isolated places in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang and Bahawalpur during morning and night hours.

Lahore’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 06-08 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 05-07 C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. Shallow fog prevailed over few plain areas of Punjab. Rain/snow occurred in Murree, Galyat.

Murree remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 03 C below freezing. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 82 per cent.

In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 06 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 86 per cent.
