ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted partly cloudy weather and snowfall for Murree and Galyat on Tuesday evening/night, Wednesday and Thursday.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect north-eastern parts of Balochistan and southern Punjab during the next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, partly cloudy weather with snowfall is expected in Murree, Galyat and surroundings on Tuesday evening/night and the next two days.

Murree’s minimum temperature is expected to be between -03 to -01 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, freezing weather prevailed in Murree, Galyat and other tourist sites in the country during the last 24 hours. Light rain and snowfall occurred in Murree and at scattered places in Galyat.

In Murree, the mercury dropped 03 C below freezing. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 82 per cent.

Tourists continued to visit Murree and Galyat for snowfall seeing. The influx of large number of vehicles caused traffic mess in Murree and on the roads leading to Galyat. The situation was the same at other tourist destinations in the country.
