LAHORE – Pakistani citizens intending to go abroad, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on a work visa are required to get their foreign employment agreement protected from the Protectorate of Emigrants (PE) office.

The department imposed a protector stamp on the passport of the applicant after receiving OPF, registration, life insurance and OEC fees, and scrutiny of the required documents.

Benefits of Protection

Complete legal protection is provided.

Entitled to full assistance from Pak-mission in the country of employment.

Legal assistance can be sought from Community Welfare Attache, Pak-Embassy in the country of employment, in case the employer violates the FSA.

Problems faced by family can be mitigated to an extent.

An applicant is required to deposit an amount of Rs2,500 as insurance premium to cover life risk for a sum of Rs1,000,000. The insurance coverage is valid for five years.

Furthermore, each applicant pays Rs2,000 in the wake of OPF (Overseas Pakistanis Foundation) fee, Rs2,500 as a registration fee, and Rs200 as OEC fee. The total cost for getting your work visa protected stands at Rs7,200.
