ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has nominated party leader Ali Amin Gandapur for the slot of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.

Khan, who is serving his sentence in various cases at the Adiala Jail, told the media in an informal discussion on Tuesday.

Provisional results shared by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) showed the independent candidates mostly backed by the PTI won the 90 seats followed by the JUI-P with seven seats. PML-N secured five seats while the PPP won the four seats.

The former prime minister said his party was going to challenge the election results in Supreme Court, alleging that massive rigging was made in the polls.

He claimed that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had suffered defeat in the elections but their results were changed to make them win.

Khan termed the Sharif family as “country’s biggest money launderer”.

The PTI founder rejected the rumours that he was being shifted to Bani Gala to serve his jail sentence.
