ABU DHABI – United Arab Emirates has issued a red alert in several regions as weather conditions worsened amid rains and thunderstorms, prompting Dubai International (DXB) Airport to divert nearly 50 flights.

The airport announced temporary diversion of inbound flights scheduled for Tuesday evening in wake of extreme weather conditions. As of late Tuesday, departures are expected to operate.

Dubai Airport is working with response teams and service partners to restore normal operations and minimize inconvenience to travelers. People are advised to check with their airlines for the latest flight information, allow extra travel time to the airport, and consider using the Dubai metro for smoother transit.
