PESHAWAR – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday evening/night and Saturday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave prevails over western and upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist in upper parts during next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected at isolated places in Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Bannu, Kohat, Kurrum, Khyber, Bajaur, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Buner, Manshera, Abbottabad, Swabi, Nowshera and Peshawar on Friday evening/night.

On Saturday and Sunday, partly cloudy weather is expected in most upper districts of the province. Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected at isolated places in Kurram, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra and Abbottabad.

Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 32-34 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 34-36 C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy/dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 36 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 59 per cent.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 33 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 77 per cent.
