ISLAMABAD – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave prevails over western and upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist in upper parts during next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm is predicted at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Friday evening/night. Gusty winds/windstorms are predicted in south Punjab and upper Sindh.

On Saturday and Sunday, mainly dry weather is predicted over most parts of the country and hot in central and southern parts. Rain-wind/thunderstorm is predicted at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas. Gusty winds/windstorms are predicted in south Punjab during the period.

Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 32-34 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 33-35 C on Sunday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 32-34 C on Saturday and 34-36 C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy/dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country and hot in southern parts during the last 24 hours. Light rain/drizzle occurred at isolated places in north Balochistan.

Mithi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 66 per cent.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 32 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 74 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 32 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 50 per cent.
