LAHORE –. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly hot and dry weather for Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Eid-ul-Fitr. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in the upper districts.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will likely enter the upper parts of the country from Wednesday evening/night.

Under these conditions, mainly dry weather is expected in Lahore and most districts of the province on Tuesday night. Partly cloudy weather is expected in Murree, Galyat and surroundings.

On Wednesday (Eid day), mainly dry weather is expected in Lahore and most parts of Punjab. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali and Khushab during the evening/night.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 35-37 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Bahawalpur, Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature reached 39 C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 37 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 20 per cent.
