Crews from Carrow, Sprowston, Attleborough, Dereham, Wroxham and Hingham attended the scene in James Watson Road with an aerial ladder platform at 9.26am today.

The fire was found on the roof of the building at the Quadram Institute with police and ambulance also in attendance.

A support appliance from Earlham and the Drone Unit from Wymondham was also sent to the incident and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and small gear to extinguish the fire.

A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots and the incident was declared under control at 11.07am.

The building was successfully evacuated before crews arrived on scene and there were no injuries.

A fire investigation will be carried out into the incident.
