An appeal by Spencer Gray, landlord to both the closed Angel Gardens pub and neighbouring AutoShop car dealership in Angel Road, is still in progress after he put forward plans to demolish the pub for nine houses — sparking further controversy.

Mr Gray lodged his appeal with planning inspectors over the right to keep cars in the pub's forecourt in May........
