The owners of the St Andrews Brew House, near The Halls, applied for permission to replace the management accommodation on the pub's second floor to install a games room featuring two shuffleboard tables and a pair of dartboards, as well as a karaoke room next door.

The application, which was submitted to Norwich City Council in December, was given the go-ahead by planning officers on Monday.

The project would also include the removal of two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and the existing partition walls.

In approval documents, it states the potential harm had been assessed as being outweighed by the benefits of bringing an unutilised floorspace back into use.

The application was submitted by the pub's owner, City Pub Group, and will require internal changes to the grade II listed site.

The building dates to the 19th century but has 20th century alterations.

The venue was formerly known as Irish pub Delaneys before being taken over by City Pub Group in August 2015.
