Local Flavours 2024 will be held in the recently-relaunched Norfolk Events Centre at the Norfolk Showground on March 20 - a new date aiming to capture the valuable spring/summer trade.

The exhibition features more than 100 producers and attracts buyers representing tourism, hospitality, catering and food retail from across the UK and Europe - all keen to source East Anglian products for their menus or shelves.

Buyers range from large multi-national businesses such as Makro, Tesco, Center Parcs and Serco, to independent cafes, restaurants, delis and farm shops across the region.

The event aims to spark new deals and partnerships which, over the years, have sold East Anglian food and drink worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Local Flavours director Valerie Watson Brown, said financial contributions from sponsors also allow subsidised stand space to be provided for new start-ups - part of a network of a support to nurture business growth and create jobs within the industry.

“We launched Local Flavours following our personal experience of trying to get products into the national retail market - a daunting experience for the most experienced salesperson," she said.

"Our thoughts were to attract buyers to a rural and local setting and to meet potential suppliers of local products in a more relaxed environment.

"It has proven a successful formula with many coming back year after year. We have been at capacity for several years now and have introduced business support areas amongst other activity to keep interest going."

Local Flavours also supports producers on overseas trade missions, consumer-targeted activities and "meet the buyer" sessions throughout the year, with the help of public sector and other funding,

Among the sponsors is Norfolk County Council, whose cabinet member for economic growth, Fabian Eagle, said: "The local food and drink sector is such an important one for Norfolk with so many great local producers - we look forward to seeing many of you at the show."

Tickets are free, but visitors need to register via www.localflavours.co.uk or by calling 01603 702374.
