The free sessions, held in the Connect Space, are taking place as part of this year's Summer Reading Challenge, which uses music as a way of encouraging children to engage with books, stories and reading for pleasure.

Beth Southard, Norfolk County Council children and young people's service manager, said: "Reading doesn't have to be a solitary, silent experience.

"There are lots of ways to use stories and sound together, in harmony."

The performances are the result of a partnership between Norfolk Libraries and Norfolk Music Hub.

The weekly concerts are open to everyone and offer a chance to see some of our county’s emerging musical talent.

But they are also part of a wider aim to show that reading can take many forms.

The Summer Reading Challenge encourages participants to create six reading goals of their own........
