A yellow weather warning has been issued from 6.25am-10pm today and covers the whole of Norfolk, as well as most of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Gusts of up to 50mph are expected as forecasters warn of travel disruption with delays of road, rail, air and ferry services possible.

The yellow wind warning has been issued for the whole of East Anglia (Image: Met Office)Sea fronts and coastal communities are likely to be affected by spray and large waves and short-term loss of power is also a possibility.

The Met Office weather forecast for the East of England today says: "A band of heavy and blustery showers will spread southeast through the morning, clearing to bright spells and scattered showers.

"Showers may turn heavy at times with the odd rumble of thunder before easing late afternoon.

"Feeling cooler with a maximum temperature 11C."
