New Delhi: OpenAI has confirmed a security incident linked to Mixpanel, a third party analytics provider once used for its API web platform. This was not a breach of OpenAI’s own systems. But yes, some information did spill out from Mixpanel’s side.

If you only use the ChatGPT website or app, you can relax. OpenAI has clearly said that ChatGPT users were not impacted. The affected people are those who use the OpenAI API dashboard on platform.openai.com for their work or app building. I use that dashboard sometimes too and the moment I read “data exported by an attacker” my eyebrows hit the ceiling.
