New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 20 runs in the 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rohit Sharma scored a 61-ball century but it was not enough to win the match as Hardik, Tim David and Romario Shepherd failed to hold the other end. Suryakumar Yadav also got out on a duck in the 8th over. Matheesha Pathirana took 4 wickets and gave away just 28 runs in his four overs.

Earlier, CSK posted a 207-run target on the board. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam stitched an outstanding partnership in the middle overs after openers Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane failed to make big contributions with the bat. MS Dhoni smacked Hardik Pandya for three back-to-back sixes in the 20th over.

Earlier in the day, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 8 wickets at the Eden Gardens in the 28th match of the IPL 2024. LSG batted first and posted 161 runs in the 20 overs. KKR chased down the target of 162 in just 15.4 overs. Philip Salt scored 89* runs off 47 balls with 14 boundaries and three maximums.

After the completion of MI vs CSK match, there are changes in the Orange Cap holder list. Virat Kohli remains at the top spot with 319 runs and Riyan Parag is at the second spot with 284 runs. Rohit Sharma is at the fourth spot with 261 runs and Shivam Dube is at the 6th spot with 242 runs

Yuzvendra Chahal still at the top spot in the Purple Cap holder list with 11 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah is at the second spot with 10 wickets and Mustafizur Rahman is at the third spot with 10 wickets.
