Mumbai: Health condition of the veteran actor Dharmendra (89) continues to remain critical. On Tuesday morning his elder daughter Esha Deol took to social media and shared a message that the actor was stable and recovering and requested privacy.

Dharmendra is receiving treatment at Breach Candy Hospital for age-related health complications. His family had been by his side throughout, while fans across the country prayed for his recovery. Those prayers have now turned into tributes, with countless admirers recalling how he once ruled the screens in the 60s and 70s, earning affection that never really faded.

Born Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol to Kewal Krishan and Satwant Kaur on December 8, 1935, the legendary actor was just weeks short of turning 90. He was born in Punjab’s Nasrali, Ludhiana district, British India, into a Punjabi Jat family.

In recent years, his health had gradually weakened. Sources close to the family had quietly acknowledged that he was struggling with the challenges that come with age.
