‘Resign now’: Congress targets CJI Surya Kant over ‘law and order’ remark
Earlier in the day, during the interaction with reporters the CJI had refused to share reasons for refusing to meet Congress leaders on the alleged issue of "vote chori". In the last few days, the national capital and other parts of Delhi witnessed protests over SIR rollout and Gyanesh Kumar.
New Delhi: Hours after Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant said that law and order was not his domain, the Congress asked him to resign from the post. The comments by the CJI came after he was asked on the protests against CEC Gyanesh Kumar and SIR issue.
“Dear Surya Kant, If law and order is not your domain, resign now. We will find your replacement who can handle it,” the Kerala unit of the Congress wrote on its X handle hours after the comment by the CJI.
