New Delhi: Garmin smartwatch users can now keep their phones in their pockets while walking, running or cycling. On July 10, Garmin announced that its watches will now support turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps, bringing navigation directly to the wrist.

The new feature is available for Android users through the Connect IQ Store and works with compatible Garmin smartwatches such as the Venu, Forerunner, vívoactive and fenix series. The app sends notifications to the watch after a user enters a destination on Google Maps via their phone.
