Railways projects worth Rs 9,450 cr approved in 4 states: Will benefit 6,448 villages

The Union government has approved four multi-tracking projects of railways in West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh at a cost of Rs 9,450 crore. These projects will increase the railway network by about 410 km and are expected to be completed by 2030-31 leading to better connectivity to as many as 6,448 villages.

Kolkata: The central government has approved four major projects related to railways with an outlay of Rs 9,450 crore. These are expected to strengthen the railway network in West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. About 410 kilometers of new railway lines will be added under these projects. Their work is scheduled to be completed by 2030-2031. These projects will benefit both passenger and freight transport.
