After Maharashtra tragedy, Delhi dance instructor jumps into Yamuna over iPhone EMI stress

A 30-year-old dance instructor was rescued after he entered the Yamuna near Kalindi Kunj in Delhi amid reported financial difficulties. He told police that a fall in his income had made it difficult for him to pay the monthly instalments on his iPhone. Police counselled the man before handing him over to his family.

New Delhi: A 30-year-old dance instructor was rescued from the Yamuna in southeast Delhi after he allegedly entered the river amid financial stress linked to unpaid instalments on his iPhone, police said. The incident occurred at around 8.30 pm on Friday near Bhola Ghat in the Kalindi Kunj area. Patrolling personnel received information that a man had entered the river and immediately alerted the police.
