The word that President Trump will have to embrace during the rest of his speaking tour is empathy (“Fixing Joe’s money mess,” Dec. 10)

All the statistics he cites to show how the economy is doing so much better will not win over the many who are struggling. People are just not feeling it, and don’t need to be told differently.

“Affordability” is the political buzzword of the week. Everything’s “too expensive” and the politician who can promise the lowest prices gets the brass ring at the carnival.

What exactly can people not afford, and who can’t afford it? Where is it happening? Everything is always happening somewhere else, and yet the mainstream media would have you believe that it’s everywhere.
