A man has gone to court to tell California women what to do with their bodies.

That man is Rob Bonta, the state’s attorney general.

But wait, you say. Aren’t Democrats like Bonta pro-choice?

Well, yes — if that choice is abortion. If the choice is to save the baby, not so much.

Bonta said Friday that he expects to prevail in a lawsuit the state brought in 2023 against pro-life groups that offer abortion-pill reversal.

The procedure relies on high-dose progesterone to counter the abortion pill in women who have last-minute changes of heart.

California can’t have that, Bonta says, because pro-life groups allegedly fail to sufficiently warn women that reversing an abortion might cause severe bleeding.

There’s scant evidence that taking high-dose progesterone causes any more bleeding than an abortion pill does. Besides: Isn’t the risk-reward ratio for medication a matter best left to a woman and her doctor?
