To the Editor:
Republicans and conservatives have stated or implied the following:
Every immigrant is a potential terrorist.
Every mother should carry a baby to term.
Life is always sacred except those who are convicted of a capital offense or is your political enemy (remember: “Hang Mike Pence!)
Only those children whose parents can afford food should eat.
Only those who can find a job should have a roof over their head.
Those addicted to prescription drugs should be incarcerated. (Although it was my fellow physicians who caused the addiction.)
Countries should not be protected if we don’t like them. And we like Russia.
Drill, baby, drill is the motto even though we are already the largest exporter of fossil fuels in the world.
Build walls not bridges.
Lower taxes on corporations but not on us.
Stop immigrants from coming to our communities.
Only those with state issued IDs should vote and only if you are white.
Attacks on the capital are merely tourist visits.
The President should have unlimited power and immunity. (To heck with the Constitution.)
Public health is not an important issue.
Before our next elections, ask our candidates what they support. Remember, local elections are the backbone of Democracy. Demand our candidates speak openly in public.
