New Year Resolutions
The thing about New Year Resolutions is they usually seem to peter out after a few weeks, according to Forbes Health 8 weeks seems to be about the limit. If you ask people why, they will usually admit that the goal they set was too high or somehow unrealistic. Losing weight often tops the list, but now that has become very achievable thanks to a new group of drugs known as GLP-1 antagonists. These drugs work by tricking your brain into thinking you are full so you don’t eat, and when you do you only feel like small portions. If you are overweight the results can be spectacular.
We are however seeing a similar story that developed around Viagra. Interestingly, Viagra was never really developed as such, it was a re-purposed drug that was originally designed to treat angina. In the same way, these weight loss drugs started life as drugs to treat type 2 diabetes. The similarities don’t just stop there, unfortunately Viagra and these weight loss drugs have become the most counterfeited and widely available drugs through non-medical outlets.
