Since the feds had given the Cape Breton Regional Municipality $149,760 to administer the pilot, that works out to nearly $6,000 per gun.
The cost of most rifles or shotguns in Canada runs between $500 and $2,500. The average is $700. Six-thousand dollar guns are available, but rare.
