Council leader could get 25 per cent increase in allowances
An independent panel has recommended Mike Stonard, who heads the ruling Labour group at Norwich City Council, should get a substantial increase in his allowance.
It would mean his remuneration for the role would increase from £20,813 to £25,843, while basic allowances for councillors could go up by nearly £2,000.
