Ambitious £100m regeneration plans divide opinion in town

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has unveiled initial plans for a new multi-million pound scheme aiming to transform the North Quay area of the town.

The council wants to create a major leisure destination with a multi-screen cinema, a retail centre with around 70 shops, a 100-120 room hotel, parking for up to 900 cars, and reconnect the town centre with the waterfront.

People in Great Yarmouth have expressed mixed views on the plans and the impact it might have on the town.

Tom Sullivan, 76, a retired factory worker, said: "I think it is brilliant. The more money that is spent the better.

"It is going to make the town a lot better and bring more people in and help the........
