Town pub with unusual name could be set for new lease of life

After closing its doors to customers before Christmas in Lowestoft, the Norman Warrior is now applying for a new licence.

EI Group Ltd - which is now part of the Stonegate Group - has applied to East Suffolk Council for a new licence for the pub and restaurant on Fir Lane.

The popular twin bar venue - situated between Lowestoft town centre and Oulton Broad North railway station - features a restaurant, lounge area that leads to a pool and darts room and a large garden.

Dating back almost 90 years, the Norman Warrior was opened on December 14 1938, with a licence that was transferred by Lacon's from the Cratfield Swan.

Mystery surrounded the sudden closure of the well-loved........
