Regional charity Access Community Trust was unveiled as the official custodians of the Waveney Centre in Beccles in April 2024.

Marking "an exciting new chapter" after taking over the daily operations at the community centre based in Ballygate, the Waveney Centre has served as a vital community hub for people aged 55 and over in Beccles and nearby areas.

With regular activities and interest groups across the week, as well as expanded offerings, it has provided a welcoming space to meet and socialise.

But after a notice was installed on the gates of the venue recently, fears over the centre's future had been raised.
