Bird poo tarnishes town centre and leads to MP action call
Lowestoft MP Jess Asato expressed frustration with a "lack of proper street cleaning" on London Road North after mounds of unsightly bird mess were spotted on pavements across the town centre.
With Lowestoft home to one of the UK's most successful urban kittiwake colonies, the endangered birds have been part of the town's heritage for decades.
Lowestoft's kittiwake population is a feature of buildings and ledges, as the rare seabirds arrive in town in February as nesting season begins.
