Update issued after security threat at Suffolk airbase
RAF Lakenheath was forced to implement security measures just before 8am on Tuesday after a person tried to enter the airbase.
The individual attempted to enter through gate two without proper identification, the base confirmed.
"The gate barriers were deployed and security forces personnel worked quickly to stop the vehicle from entering the installation," he added.
The Ministry of Defence Police responded to the incident and the person was taken into custody.
A Ministry of Defence source has now confirmed that they weren't arrested or detained.

"The security of our personnel, families, and the surrounding community remains our top priority," the RAF Lakenheath spokesman added.
Protests against the Iran war have been held outside RAF Lakenheath in recent weeks, including an incident in which activists locked themselves onto a car to block the main gates.
It is understood that the person involved in Tuesday’s incident was not a protester.
