'Trojan Horse' housing bid would harm valley say planners

The scheme, which was proposed to back onto the River Wensum near Costessey Pits at Taverham, was for three detached homes on large plots with big gardens.

However, those living in Taverham Road opposite the earmarked land felt the project was a Trojan Horse fearing it would open the floodgates for further development on the site and along the Wensum.

Floods of objections were submitted to the plans.

Now Broadland District Council have sided with the people living by the site, saying the project........
