Huge warehouse in Norfolk countryside to sit vacant after farmer loses planning war

David Murrell received approval from Broadland Council to build a sprawling 920 square metre agricultural unit at Heath Farm in Little Plumstead, in January 2024.

Mr Murrell argued the building, on Norwich Road, was meant to support his son’s farming machinery business linked to a neighbouring pig farm.

But delays of more than a year in securing pig farm consents meant the business relocated, leaving the building without a purpose.
